New NZADDs Commentary: Cutting the Hand Off

In this commentary NZADDs steering group member Jo Spratt examines recent cuts to New Zealand aid funding for Pacific NGOs and human rights activities. She also discusses potential rationales for the cuts, including change in aid policy and the performance of the organisations whose had their funding cut. She concludes that there appears to be little evidence of a coherent decision making process informing the cuts. Rather, they appear to have been driven by ad hoc Ministerial decisions.
