NZADDs has a new working paper: ‘Is Development Wicked? Using a Wicked Problems Framework to Examine Development Problems’ by Joanna Spratt. You can download it here [pdf], you can look at other NZADDs working papers here.
This Working Paper takes the ten characteristics of ‘wicked problems’ – human problems that are resistant to change and prone to fragmentation – and applies these to development practice. Several key insights and questions are drawn from this analysis. This Working Paper hopes to provoke thought and comment. If you’re so-provoked please send us your comments, they are welcome and appreciated.
